Goals and Objectives:
The library will promote a love of learning and reading.
Curriculum development
Collection development
current interests and needs
Web 2.0 tools to facilitate (however you spell it) assessment
award-winning books (stay current)
The librarian and co-teachers will make learning fun and interactive
blogs, podcasts, and wikis
students assessing their work and those of their peers (no pressure)
create an environment that is hands-on
Support an environment where co-teaching is possible
flexible scheduling
on-board with principal, administrators with current stats of classroom achievement
attending grade level meetings
participating in district level staff meetings with both reading specialists, other librarians, and at school meetings
communicate with co-teachers virtually and in person
up-to-date on state standards and TEKS/TAKS scores and current curriculum
Encourage students to participate fully in learning process through Web 2.0 tools and current topics
Allow students time to problem solve answers through compare and contrast
fully understand impact of sharing resources and ideas (giving credit where credit is due)
allowing all users regardless of disabilities or language barriers to communicate their ideas
Current topics allow a "now" relevancy to learning
